National Teen Drive Safety Week
In 2007, Congress established every third week of October as National Teen Driver Safety Week (NTDSW) to raise awareness of motor vehicle crashes and to find solutions to lower the fatal crash risk of teen drivers. During NTDSW, teens from across the country use this week to engage in awareness events and activities at their schools and in their communities. The next National Teen Driver Safety Week will take place October 19-25, 2015.
Need some ideas for a NTDSW activity? Check out the Ride Like a Friend Campaign (RLAF). RLAF is a school-based campaign that encourages safe teen passenger and driver behavior.
NTDSW is also a great week to set up demonstrations of MDOT’s Safety Simulators at your school or safety event. Click here for more information.
